Korea's foreign exchange reserves rose by nearly one-and-a-half billion U.S. dollars on-month in July, after shrinking for two months in a row.
According to the Bank of Korea, the country's reserves came to 371-point-three-eight billion U.S. dollars in July, up one-point-four-nine billion from the previous month.
The central bank attributed the rise to increased gains from investment in foreign assets.
Foreign reserves held in overseas securities added one-point-three-five billion from the previous month, while overseas deposits gained 140 million over the cited period.
As of the end of June, South Korea was the world's seventh-largest holder of foreign exchange reserves.
