Published on Aug 2, 2016
Japan is rolling out more economic stimulus. The Cabinet of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe approved the $274 billion stimulus as it tries to shake the nation's economy back to life. By total size, the stimulus package ranks among Japan's biggest since the global financial crisis. The program includes money for infrastructure projects and cash handouts to low income people. The yen jumped to a 3 week high. Aetna this morning reported 2nd quarter profit of $791 million. On a per-share basis, the Connecticut based insurer said it had profit of $2.23, adjusted for one time gains and costs were $2.21. The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. Another billionaire has come out in support of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Warren Buffett campaigned with her in his home state of Nebraska. In a speech, he challenged Republican nominee Donald Trump to reveal his tax returns. Clinton has also gotten support from billionaires Mark Cuban and Michael Bloomberg.
