The
battle for the Syrian city of Aleppo continues to rage, with more than a
quarter of a million people in rebel held areas surrounded by forces
loyal to the Assad regime.
Last week they cut off the Castello road, the last supply route into the rebel controlled east - it's thought that food could run out in a matter of weeks.
Today rebels launched a new assault on government positions from the south-west - and brought down a Russian military helicopter in the area.
