Malian alleged jihadist will go on trial on Monday for an attack on the
world heritage site of Timbuktu in an unprecedented case before the
International Criminal Court. Ahmad al-Faqi al-Mahdi is expected to
plead guilty to the war crime of destroying the Timbuktu mausoleums.
