Ban
Ki-moon has also expressed deep concern about the safety of the Izadi
minority group held captive in Iraq by Daesh also known as ISIL. Ban has
called on all those fighting against ISIL in Iraq to give priority to
the release of about 32-hudred Izadis, mostly women and children. The
U-N Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict has also
slammed Daesh’s atrocities, saying extreme acts of sexual violence
cannot go unpunished.
