Google
is scrapping its plans to build a modular smartphone, after three years
of development. The company is ending Project Ara, the initiative that
housed the modular phone. The plan was to allow owners to purchase
different add-ons for the device, such as a keyboard, screens or
cameras. Shares of Google's parent company Alphabet are up 0.5 percent
on Friday. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
