The Iraqi army and its allies have laid siege to the town of Bartella, just east of Mosul.

Commanders say counter-terrorism forces are now clearing the area of the remaining ISIL fighters and their booby traps.

Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr reports from east of Mosul.
