The opposition-dominated Venezuelan Congress wants to put President Nicolas Maduro on trial on charges of violating democracy.
At a special session, legislators say he is behind the Electoral Commission’s suspension last week of a recall referendum that is designed to vote him out of office in the run-up to scheduled elections.
Maduro has consistently said the moves against him are part of a capitalist conspiracy.
