Mikhail
Khodokorsky, a former Russian oligarch who has become one of Vladimir
Putin’s most vocal opponent in exile, reacts to the spectacular arrest
and indictment of Economy Minister Alexeï Uliukaïev on corruption
charges in Moscow this week. He argues that the allegations appear to be
trumped up for political reasons and in order to favor the interests of
one of Igor Sechin, the head of the oil giant company Rosneft and one
of Vladimir Putin’s closest ally, whom he describes as a “leech”.
