Australia - Market Close 9 Dec 16: Shares hit four month highs

The Australian markets rose for the fourth straight day, took the gains this week to 2% and hit the best levels in four months in the process. Should local shares rise by another 1% next week, the ASX 200 will hit a 16-month high.
