Foreign investor appetite for Korean stocks has not been dampened,… despite the strengthening of the U.S. dollar on the back of the Fed's rate hike.
According to Korea Exchange on Tuesday,… foreign investors have been net buyers of local stocks for the past nine sessions.
Trading volume shot up to 466-trillion won, or 389-billion U.S. dollars, as of Monday -- the second highest ever.
The benchmark KOSPI opened at 2-thousand-43-point-three-zero points, down zero-point-2-7 percent,… while the tech-heavy KOSDAQ started the session up zero-point-1-1 percent at 6-hundred-42-point-8-5.
U.S. markets had a mixed performance,… as the Nasdaq reached a record high close,… continuing its run with gains in healthcare and tech stocks,... while the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 fell zero-point-3-8 and zero-point-3-5 respectively.
