Yesterday's
outsider - is now favored to win...Benoît Hamon - the man representing
the socialist party's left wingvoted in the Paris suburb of Trappes...He
says that if he wins the primary - his first goal will be to unite the
party.a few minutes after Hamon - his rival - former Prime minister
Manuel Valls cast his own ballot - in Every - where he used to be
mayor.in the first round - Valls was five percentage points behind
Hamon..but much more than that gap separates the 2 men who have opposite
views on almost every issue.◄br /► Valls says he's the realistic
Left: believing that helping businesses is good for everyone...He wants
to fight radical islam and makes security one of his
priorities.meanwhile Hamon - wants to focus on social issues and invest
in green energy. One of his campaign promises has brought him much
attention:universal income for allan idea Valls says is impossible to
implement - because it's too expensive.whoever wins - will face the
right and far right candidatesthey'll also confront independent centrist
Emmanuel Macron,far left candidate: Jean-Luc Mélenchon.so far - Hamon
and Valls have been lagging behind in opinion pollsbut they hope the
victory in the primary will boost their popularity.
