Venezuela's President Nicolas Maduro has announced a 50 percent rise in the minimum wage.
And a similar boost for pensions.
The move is aimed at helping public workers and others including the police and armed forces.
But opponents say it will do little to ease the country's economic crisis. They blame Maduro’s policies.
