Kathleen Brooks, Director of Research at City Index gives her view on the suggestion the Conservatives could fail to win an outright majority in the election on 8 June.

Brooks feels a certain amount of complacency has crept into the FTSE given the slim chance of a Labour win.

''If it looks like Labour could get that 316 seats necessary ... then I think we're going to see a big adjustment in the FTSE''.
