The
leaders of five countries in north Africa are meeting French President
Emmanuel Macron in Mali to discuss the deployment of a new African force
to fight “terrorism” in the Sahel region.
Macron was last in Mali in May just after he became president, but there are doubts about how the new force will be funded.
Mohamed Vall reports from Bamako.
