This
week, we take a look at rural France and its development through the
ages. Like in many other European nations, France saw a massive exodus
towards its urban centres during the 19th and 20th centuries - a
demographic shift that has had long-lasting effects. But the shift has
also left rural France with several issues to deal with, such as
education and technology, pushing many of these areas to now go on a
charm offensive to try to attract the country’s so-called "neo-rural"
population.
