South Korea's defense ministry could announce the location of the THAAD missile defense system as early as Friday.
A
South Korean military source says the ministry has finished its
evaluation of three possible sites for the deployment of the U.S.
system.
All that's left is for the South Korean and U.S. governments to approve it.
Most
experts say THAAD will most likely be deployed at the Lotte Skyhill
Country Club in Seongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, as it's the most
suitable of the three candidate sites.
THAAD is expected to be
deployed to South Korea by the end of next year... to better protect the
South from North Korea's missile and nuclear threats.
