Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has officially declared Mosul retaken after the Islamic State group captured the city three years ago. The battle to liberate the country's second-largest city was one of the bloodiest in recent years. It killed thousands, left large areas in ruins and displaced more than 900,000 civilians. Major challenges now lie ahead for the Sunnis and Shiites of the region.
