The eSports industry in China is booming, thanks to a government push which saw competitive gaming added to the curriculum.
The Chinese Communist Party saw it as an opportunity to dominate the gaming market - but it could have unintended consequences.
By 2020, half the population is expected to have myopia, or short-sightedness.
This equates to around 700 million people.
