The trial of Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer filmed with his knee on George Floyd’s neck, continues on April 7. He is charged with murder and manslaughter for Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020. This stream contains graphic content.
The seventh day of the trial included testimony from Lt. Johnny Mercil, an officer who trained Chauvin on techniques he could use to subdue subjets. Mercil told the court that the neck restraint he used on Floyd was not authorized because Floyd was already handcuffed and under control.
