Pro-democracy
activists who have just been elected to Hong Kong's Legislative
Council, are pledging to continue their opposition to the Chinese
government.
For their part, government leaders in Beijing are warning the young activists to abandon their push for independence.
Al Jazeera's Sarah Clarke reports from Hong Kong.
