local research team is close to completing whole-genome sequencing of a
Korean individual,... opening up the door for developing new medicine
that's suitable for Koreans.
Whole-genome sequencing refers to all the relevant genetic information that affects breeding and the survival activities of human beings.
The research team is composed of a domestic biotechnology company, Macrogen, and another team from the College of Medicine of Seoul National University.
The team published their research in Nature,... an international weekly journal of science.
The journal highly assessed the research, saying it provides the most perfect standard of genome sequencing among those that currently exist.
