Russian
President Vladimir Putin is expected to meet his Turkish counterpart
Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the World Energy Congress in
Istanbul.
More than 200 energy leaders from 85 countries are
there to talk about energy policies. They are likely to discuss
implementing the Turkish Stream gas pipeline, which would see gas
delivered directly from Russia to Turkey. The project had been suspended
for several months after the downing of a Russian jet near the border
with Syria last year.
Al Jazeera’s Jamal Elshayyal reports from Istanbul.
