Thousands
of New Yorkers have rallied in one of the city's landmark parks against
several policy initiatives of President Donald Trump.
The President has signed two Executive Orders aimed at curbing illegal immigration, by redirecting federal dollars towards building a border wall with Mexico and eliminating federal funding to so-called sanctuary cities, that protect undocumented immigrants who may have violated federal law, but who now live legally and pay taxes in those cities. President Trump is also expected to sign further orders, temporarily barring refugees from the country, while blocking visas to several Middle Eastern and African countries over terrorism concerns.
