땅값 9년 만에 최고 상승...제주 19% 급등선
The nation's land prices over the past year have risen at the fastest pace since 2008.
According to an appraisal by the ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport,... as of January 1st, the average value of property nationwide is up almost 5 percent, with the biggest rise seen on Jeju Island where land prices jumped by 19 percent.

In a distant second was Busan at 9 percent and Sejong city at 7 percent.
Contributing factors include the planning of a second airport on Jeju, and in Sejong the relocation of government ministries and state-run agencies from Seoul to promote more a more regionally balanced economy.
Jeju, in fact, has seen prices rise now by more than 18 percent for two years in a row.
