This year, the northern French port city of Le Havre is celebrating its 500th birthday. Almost entirely destroyed by Allied bombing during World War II, today it's the busiest port in France. We take a look back at its unique history. To celebrate five centuries since its founding, the city is putting on a cultural festival called "A Summer in Le Havre". The event consists of a number of historical walking tours and an impressive selection of exhibitions. FRANCE 24's team went to check it out.
