In an interview with FRANCE 24, David Schenker, the US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, discussed the situation in Libya and the involvement of foreign forces like Turkey and Russia in the conflict there. "We think it's important that the arms embargo be implemented immediately," he told FRANCE 24. Schenker warned that the Libyan conflict "could spin out of control if the Russians choose to escalate further". The top US official also discussed the situation in Iraq, Iran and Lebanon, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
