A global surge in inflation & the aggressive tightening of monetary policy to contain it are sending ripples through the entire world -- and emerging markets could be among its biggest victims. 

 

 

Pain at the pump is one thing in the US, but for developing nations surging prices can lead to strained finances, widespread misery and political upheaval. 

 

 

Plus, the rising dollar & increasing rates are proving a dangerous combination for EM. Runaway inflation led to default in Sri Lanka & toppled the government.
