The Korean nuclear disaster film "Pandora" received a standing ovation at the first-ever International Film Festival and Awards Macao over the weekend.
At the event on Sunday, the audience of 4-hundred, including international film critics, applauded until the director and actors bowed and left the stage.
Directed by Park Jung-woo , "Pandora" was the only Korean movie invited to the festival.
The thriller, which follows an evolving nuclear disaster triggered by an earthquake, was released in Korea last Wednesday and has so far grossed nearly 7-million U.S. dollars.
The film is the first in the country to be acquired by online streaming service Netflix and will be released globally through the service in over 190 countries around the world starting next year.
