As Sri Lanka's protest movement reaches 100 days, the people proudly and defiantly said that their fight is not over. Indeed, in addition to political uncertainty, the country faces a long list of problems, with years of mismanagement coupled with external shocks.


The coronavirus pandemic has battered the tourism industry, and the war in Ukraine has contributed to soaring inflation. On the ground, there are also long queues for food and fuel.

Sri Lanka - Searching for the ringleader behind country's attacks: BBC News

Police in Sri Lanka are still looking for Zahran Hashim, the alleged ringleader of a group of suicide bombers who attacked churches and hotels on Easter Sunday, killing more than 350 people. It's still not clear if Mr Hashim, a member of a hardline Islamist group, is alive or dead. BBC correspondent Yogita Limaye travelled to his home town, more than 200km east of Colombo. She reports from Kattakundy for the BBC News at Ten.
