Now
it's Berlin: Twelve killed as a truck rammed through security gates and
into a crowded Christmas market. The rampage bears the hallmarks of the
Bastille Day attack in Nice and follows warnings that Christmas-related
events could be targeted. The profile of the suspect will renew
scrutiny of Germany's refugee policy, despite the county’s pro-active
efforts to integrate new arrivals. It’s times like these that test the
resolve of Europe's reluctant hegemon.
