Syria
talks in the Kazakh capital are off to rocky start as no face-to-face
discussions will take place between rival delegations.
The key players in Syria are in the capital Astana after six years of war with the aim to reinforce the current ceasefire.
The opposition delegation includes representatives of about a dozen armed groups, led by Mohammed Alloush.
Mohammed Alloush said: “We need to stop the bloodshed in Syria. We are ready to go anywhere and do what it takes to consolidate the ceasefire and to protect our people from the organized terrorism and crimes committed by the regime and the gangs.”
